The author is a freelance writer and social activist working on developmental issues. He started of as a freelance journalist and has pursued a variety of professions and loves, including that of researcher, copywriter, interior designer, activist and economic and political affairs officer with the consular office of the Japanese government in Calcutta. Chaudhuri plans to take up writing full time. Presently he is involved with the work of a non-profit organisation and edits a journal of sustainable development. Chaudhuri lives in Calcutta. His first novel is slated to be published later this year.

He has always had a keen interest in science, and has participated in several scientific forums including the national level 'Intel Science Talent Discovery Fair', where he won the 'Young Scientist Award' as well as the award for the 'Best Biochemistry Project'. He is presently also pursuing independent research under the guidance of Dr. Cletus D'Souza, at the Post Graduate Department of Studies in Biochemistry, Manasagangotri, Mysore.
